What's the Big Deal?

Well, it should be reasonably simple to explain... well, maybe not. I'll try my best.

Once Upon A Time...

...there was a server named Bacon. It's lineage and heritage dictated it take a last name, and it's full nomenclature came to be bacon.ml.org.

Bacon begat a number of brethren in the house, and they were named Smoky, and Crispy, among others. Their combined computing might was the envy of many others who knew of the clan, and they were connected to the Internet through the Fattest of Pipes.

For Bacon and his brethren had the original ADSL rollout from Bell, with the fabled Westel modems. Total bandwidth was somewhere on the order of 5Mb.
